Fabrics & Papers was formed in 2000 and has pioneered online sales of high quality designer wallpaper, curtain and upholstery fabrics direct to customers. It has become a one-stop shop for all your furnishing needs making the task of finding and matching the right fabrics and wallpaper to your chosen colour scheme stress-free.

Now in its 15th year, the company offers over 5,500 different creative treatments from over 50 leading design houses.

Products are sorted by category and brand for easy access. Cuttings and larger samples can be ordered to check design and colour before you purchase. A bespoke curtain making service is also available, offering a wide range of treatments.

Small swatches can be ordered through the product page and we charge £4.50 for every 6 ordered, with the first couple at just £1.50.

We have introduced a new area to the site, the Boutique. Here we have a small selection of unique design houses, a number of whom are exclusive to ourselves, the majority of the products are hand printed, and can therefore be coloured to suit your interior style. All samples from the Boutique are worth two from the main store, we will refund you the costs when placing your order.

Emma Vans Agnew

Design Director

Emma Vans Agnew is the co-founder of Fabricsandpapers.com and is responsible for product selection and overall management of the business.

She has over 25 years experience in interior design. Her career began with the leading design company Colefax and Fowler where she worked on many prestigious projects including the refurbishment of Althorp House , the family home of the late Diana Princess of Wales and Charlie Chaplin’s lakeside home near Montreux in Switzerland.

After taking time out of the industry to have three children she continued her career with the designers Grubb and Kinahan who specialised in London houses and design work for historic country house hotels and conference centres such as Brocket Hall.

Emma is a regular media commentator on interior design topics.

Emma doesn’t seem to have much time to for anything but Fabrics & Papers!

Heather Finch

Business Development Manager

Heather has been with Fabrics and Papers since 2010 and now works part-time after taking 6 months off to have her son. She is responsible for business development at Fabrics & Papers with a background of working with independent businesses and luxury goods. Her role at Fabrics and Papers includes sourcing new products and suppliers; improving the functionality of the website to enhance customer satisfaction; and supervising the company’s sales and marketing activities.

Heather likes spending time on the beach with her son and retired greyhound Bart.

Sandra Hill

Orders Manager

Sandra is responsible for all product orders received and dispatched from Fabrics and Papers, ensuring that orders are processed and with the customer in a timely manner. Additionally, Sandra is on hand to help with customers enquiries, offering advice if needed. Prior to joining our team she was the Customer Service Manager at The Real flower Company, company offering high end floral arrangements.

When not in the office Sandra enjoys walking her lovely dog Lola

Ruth Simpson

Ecommerce Assistant

Ruth came to work with us in May 2015, after working for a DIY blog. She has a degree in English and creative writing from Falmouth university and is a key member of our ecommerce team.

Ruth is a keen surfer and when not hard at work she is usually planning her next surfing adventure.

Liz Smith

Sampling Manager

Liz is our sampling manager, in charge of running our very busy cuttings department, she is a organisational pro after raising 5 boys!

Liz has a love for fabrics and is part of a local sewing group.

Elody Batzella

Cuttings Assistant

Elody moved to Brighton in 2015 from Sardinia, Italy and has been working in our busy cuttings department, processing orders and liaising with customers.

Typically, Elody is a fantastic cook, her signature veggie lasagne being a favourite at our staff lunches! Also, in her spare time Elody likes to go rock climbing.

Emily Castledine

Cuttings Assistant

Emily has moved to Sussex from Lincolnshire to explore new opportunities. She is a key member in our sampling department ensuring samples are sent out promptly with all their relevant information.

Emily enjoys her sport and has recently joined a local Netball team.

Amy Gaskell

Digital Marketing

Amy works with us part time and looks after all our digital marketing activity. Amy studied Business & Marketing at the University of Liverpool and after having a successful career in London Amy decided to move to the coast to raise a family.

When not at work or looking after her two lovely children Amy enjoys taking advantage of Brighton's eclectic mix of shops & cafés.

Jane Cave

Curtain Maker

Jane has been working in soft furnishings all her working life. Her clients include 5* hotels, restaurants as well as many private clients. We have been using her team to make all our soft furnishings for over 10 years, whether it be for our interior design clients or online customers.

When not in the workroom Jane loves to race around the countryside on her bike, and also enjoys cooking for her family and friends.


Office Pet

Toto is Tarka's son. Having been born (not literally!) and bred in the office, Toto is a true Fabrics & Papers ambassador!

Perdy has grown into a beautiful young lady. On the days she comes to the office she is always keen to help with choosing fabrics, and moving things around the office!
