Lewis & Wood Wallpaper and Fabrics

Articles

Lewis & Wood was formed in 1993 when Steve Lewis, a textiles printer, and Joanna Wood, an interior designer, combined their design talent to create one of England’s most well loved and traditional interior design brands.

Originally based in a small basement flat in London, they have since moved to a more substantial office/studio/shop in Woodchester Mill in the Stroud Valleys.

Their ethos is based around the idea of making something different yet reliable, creating homely quirky interiors.

Lewis & Wood is proud to say that it still produces mainly British made and designed wallpapers and fabrics. Creative director, Magdalen Jebb, collaborates with a variety of freelance designers from different disciplines – weavers, dyers, printers and finishers - to encourage an original approach. Frequently featured in the UK’s most prestigious interior magazines, such as Country Homes and Interiors and Country Living, Lewis & Wood is an inspiring brand, with designs suited for a variety of arenas such as drawing rooms in the deepest darkest depths of the countryside, to bedrooms in fast moving contemporary cities.

Lewis & Wood’s popularity starts with quirky wallpaper’s such as Trade Cards, Hunting Scene and Calligraphy. Recent collections from Lewis & Wood have given fabrics such as Calder Check the limelight. Classic bestsellers include, Bourne Street, Chinese Toile, Venetian Damask and Tartan Wallpaper.
