Titley & Marr produces high quality wallpapers and furnishing fabrics, both printed and woven, designed to suit both traditional and contemporary interiors in domestic and contract environments.
Titley & Marr has always prided itself in manufacturing almost all of its products in Great Britain.
Originally the company produced printed fabrics inspired by the rich traditions of English 19th Century woodblock printed designs. As time has passed and style of design changed, with it so did Titley & Marr’s methods and designs.
Retaining inspiration from traditional documents, the designers have altered the scale and colourations to suit modern day living environments. Fabrics made of textured yarns, wools, linen and cotton combined with a mix of natural colours and rich vibrant hues dominate the collection.
Titley and Marr is most famous for producing traditional patterns with a twist, such as their Toile de Jouy’s, stripes, checks and wool fabrics and wallpapers.
At fabricsandpapers.com we have somewhat of a soft spot for Titley & Marr, helped because of its popularity among customers. Their fabrics and wallpapers are frequently featured in our best sellers list, whether it is the Toile de Jouy – which comes in a selection of colours and designs – or their beautiful tartan cushions.
Toile de Jouy is originally a French pattern depicted on white or off-white backgrounds. An intricate scene of pastoral life is depicted, and reproduced across the fabric. Titley & Marr hase four designs – Harvest Toile, Mikado Toile, Pastoral Toile, Provence Toile and Quainton Toile.
Tartan is another popular design from Titley and Marr. The pattern is originated in Scotland and was used to represent a family or homestead. Some tartans are now very famous due to the families they represent, like Stewart tartan which is the Royal family’s tartan. Titley & Marr has seven tartans, with names dedicated to parts of Scotland, and famous Scottish families.
