New collections make reference to the past whilst using contemporary techniques and treatments to take the company forward as a purveyor of timeless and distinctive furnishings.
Collections include Frangipani, an embroidery collection that encompasses both traditional and contemporary interpretations of natural forms. The designs range from exuberant multi-coloured florals to delicate monotone leaf patterns, using a variety of techniques and styles.
Persia Wallpapers features magnificent designs from the Zoffany archive. This collection incorporates innovative printing techniques, special inks, crepe embosses and contemporary colours to give each design a uniquely modern twist. This is one of the first collections printed for Zoffany on non-woven paper which, in addition to being easier to hang, also makes it possible to add subtle embosses, enhancing the character of the designs.
This collection of classic damask wallpapers revives some of Zoffany’s most famous and best loved papers, previously only available as hand-prints. ‘Classic Damask Wallpapers’ reintroduces designs from Zoffany’s earliest collections. The designs: Oak Garland, Pomegranate and Long Gallery, originate from ‘Temple Newsam,’ the very first wallpaper collection produced by Zoffany, named after the early Tudor House built around 1500 for Thomas Lord Darcy. In the 1980s, the original Zoffany design team was commissioned to reproduce some of the fabulous and precious wallpapers from the interior of the house.
Zoffany has turned to the restrained classical style of eighteenth century Sweden to influence a wallpaper collection that exudes character, elegance and simplicity. Zoffany and the Gustavus style share a natural affinity in their colour palettes. Core colours of creams, whites, blues and greys are warmed with the addition of earthy reds. The challenge for the Zoffany design studio was replicating the quality of the natural materials inherent to Swedish eighteenth century interiors for a contemporary market. By using modern printing techniques and rich opaque pigments the studio has captured the authentic textures of natural wood and rough plaster.
The Nureyev wallpaper collection comprises eight designs, some printed using long established methods and others achieved by state of the art technologies. Metallic and iridescent inks have been applied to give rich, contemporary backgrounds and elsewhere the effects of tooled leather, flocking, silk and linen have all been achieved within the collection.
