Trumpet Flowers Velvet Fabric
Back
A lively tropical velvet fabric featuring the Brugmansia shrub, whose large, fragrant, trumpet-shaped flowers have earned it the name “Angel’s Trumpets”. Designed in 1913, by Stuart Proverbs who was Vice-President of the Society of Designers, the design marked a new direction at the end of the Arts and Crafts era, when exoticism and colour began to emerge. Shown in rich blue and green on a dark indigo ground.
