One of our long-standing customers from the US recently sent us some images of the results of her latest project – her gorgeous new boot room design scheme. After requesting several samples, Allie chose a stunning combination of patterns, including a high-quality, hard-wearing striped fabric for her extremely long – more than two metres – bespoke bench seat cushion.
The art of mixing patterns is a popular one for good reason. The selection used to create the bespoke seat pad and cushion covers, plus the impeccable choice of wallpaper, gives depth and character to the space, while the choice of colours creates a sense of calmness. The effect is a practical area you want to spend time in, and you can sit down in comfort while changing shoes and boots.
"Allie has been a customer for many years and has a good eye. She made use of our sampling service to make her final decisions and everything went smoothly. Working with the bespoke team, this seat pad has turned out great. The hardest part was the challenge our packing team had folding the huge inner pad into its protective bag to send it half way around the world"

The Hares in Hiding wallpaper, an irresistible creation from the Swedish duo Långelid / von Brömssen, is compelling without being overwhelming, adding a playful touch. Madeaux's Jajim Fabric in Camel oozes quality, and the colours of this chunky woven fabric tie the scheme together. The variety of stripe widths and sturdy ground make this a lovely, timeless fabric to use for furniture upholstery and cushions. Lewis & Wood's glorious Papya Fabric in Desert Sand, used for the scatter cushion, then works beautifully with the storage baskets and hats. This floral print is based on a 16th-century paper-cut design. It has the appearance of block-printed fabric, adding character to the hieroglyphic style pattern, making it a great choice for many interior styles, including this boot room.
