Style Inspiration: Chalet Chic

19th July 2017

When we think of ski chalets, we imagine roaring fires and mugs of steaming hot chocolate in cosy interiors providing a warm and welcoming retreat from the outdoors. Chalets also place great emphasis on stylish yet practical interior design, providing us with ideas on how we can decorate our own spaces.

We take a look at three different approaches to chalet style. There's also a selection of our favourite products to help you recreate the look in your home design...

Chalet Chic

Nordic Cabin

Create the intimate air of winter cabin design with layering, rich colours and patterns. Adding throws and cushions can make spending more time inside a delight. Plus, you can wrap up warm whilst enjoying the relaxed ambience of a winter interior.

Festive reds, greens and browns contrast with creamy shades for a wintery look. Whereas, tartans and check patterns add interest against plain furniture or walls.

Alpine Lodge

Emulate the smart interiors of a country lodge with dark woods and a combination of smooth and textured fabrics. Sleek leathers work wonderfully alongside deep faux furs and woven fabrics in neutral tones, to bring a soft yet stylish edge to any space.

Deep browns matched with complimenting neutrals add an earthy richness to the lodge look. The contrast of soft and hard materials with tone on tone then elevates it to a sophisticated finish.

Scandi Retreat

Scandinavian interiors favour pared back furnishings with clean lines and natural textures. A love of the outdoors is evident, and inspiration is taken from the simple beauty of nature.

Warm lighting, woody tones and soft fabrics help to balance the chilliness of this look. Pair it with muted pale or pastel tones to create effortlessly chic surroundings.
