Decorating with Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2017

3rd August 2017

“Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalise, Greenery symbolises the reconnection we seek with nature, one another and a larger purpose.”

Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Colour Institute

Trend-setter and authority on all things colourful, Pantone has chosen “Greenery” as Colour of the Year 2017. A fresh, punchy shade, Greenery falls somewhere between zesty lime and freshly cut grass, with subtle yellow undertones.

Evocative of lush, healthy foliage, Greenery is ideal for bringing the beauty of nature into your home, whether through physical plants or simply their motifs. It is inextricably connected with spring, and connotations of revival, growth and ultimately, life, making it perfect for injecting energy into any space.

This marks the second year that Pantone has selected a colour based on social and political events or attitudes, suggesting that interiors are playing a greater part than ever in providing us with a place in which we can retreat and reflect on goings on in the world.
