Neutral Cottage Sitting Room

7th October 2019

A stunning cottage living room featuring low ceilings that are common across many cottages in the UK. A pale palette keeps the room light throughout and the glass table keeps the area feeling open and not too heavy. The large central ceiling light helps to brighten the corners of the room and neutral accessories including the table lamp help reflect this. Adding just a little weight of colour in the cushions helps to break up the mixture of neutral linens used for the upholstered sofa. It's then topped off with a stunning rug, creating the perfect mix of neutral interior furnishings.

Walls and Curtains

A warm Manilla Beige Paint complements the pine beams and keeps the room feeling light and cosy.

This lovely textured Flint Fabric is woven in glossy off-white threads that catches the light when used for bespoke curtains.

This room has plenty of seating for everyone including a classic upholstered sofa like Woodmancote. Herringbone then makes the perfect neutral textured upholstery fabric.

Two Bramber wingback occasional chairs in a warm neutral Safari Velvet Fabric frame the room.

Mix a variety of bespoke cushions that feature texture and pattern to add some understated colour. A rich neutral Plain Velvet adds depth whilst Decoupage adds a traditional pattern.

Lamorna adds a wonderfully embroidered floral design. Whereas, Bansuri brings a cool ikat pattern.

Lighting and Accessories

This Czarina floods the room with light and the angular Yves Table Lamp doubles up as an interesting piece of sculpture.

Bridgehampton Coffee Table is also a brilliant central metallic feature. This Bullerswood Rug by William Morris reflects the beiges in the room and adds a little extra colour.
