Ikat Fabric for Curtains & Upholstery

Explore our eye-catching collection of Ikat fabrics for curtains, upholstery and soft furnishings. Ikat print fabrics are extremely striking and recognisable and their earliest origins can be traced to South America and South East Asia. The word Ikat means cord or thread in Indonesian. Ikat fabrics are made using a resist dyeing technique, in which thousands of threads are dyed prior to weaving to create the final pattern on the fabric. There are various Ikat production techniques, which create either traditional clear defined patterns or vague blurred designs which are most popular in today’s contemporary style interiors. Neutral Ikat fabrics can complement a rooms colour scheme or add subtle interest, whereas bright bold Ikat fabrics can create a statement piece within your room.
