Custom Headboard for a Modern Bedroom

Living in the city, in rented accommodation, our customer wanted to add some colour and interest to her room without using wallpaper or paint. This way, when the time comes to move, this entire look can be easily re-created in another location.

The design brief: fun, bright, sophisticated and something that will not date.

The project focused around a custom made headboard, the shape was kept simple to complement the striped pattern within the main embroidery fabric. The headboard fabric, Bookend, is designed by Kit Kemp, the Queen of statement headboards, so we felt it would be the ideal choice for our customer's bespoke headboard. A contrasting plain green velvet has also been used to keep within our client's budget.

To complete the room we have added a splash of colour in a complementary colour palette. Bespoke cushions and lampshades have both been finished with some beautiful hot pink and burnt orange trimmings to tie all the design elements together.

Our customer was delighted with the instant transformation to her bedroom interior. With just these three new additions, she now has a space that is fun, bright and sophisticated - just as the brief specified.
