A living room filled with beautiful bespoke treasures in every corner. Hannah, one of our Interior Designers worked with the client to create this bold look using green and pink as the theme. Designing built in storage made by a local carpenter, fitted perfectly to the space with paneling, shelving and complete with in Farrow & Ball Paint.
The starting point for this project was the fabulous floral curtains, as they were staying put and the new décor was to fit with their colour palette. The workshop was busy with furniture upholstery for this project. All of the existing armchairs were transformed both visually with vibrant velvet and woven fabrics as well as internally, the insides have been restored to improve the comfort levels by adding new springs and feather wrapped foam seat cushions.
The traditional Knole sofa is a treasured heirloom for the client, and has been in the family for many years. Our Sussex based upholstery team have a wealth of knowledge and experience working with antique furniture, as well as designing new pieces from scratch like the striped footstool which we have made on traditional style turned legs and brass castors, in keeping with the surrounding furniture.
What's a living room without a statement armchair. The main armchair was brought back to life with the beautiful Ruskin Velvet fabric in rich emerald, whilst a cool blue and green stripe, Compton Fabric, has been used on the bespoke handmade footstool with matching bench seat in the window. The deep pinks are placed around the room amongst the soft green, embroidered in the pretty cushion fabric, over the floor rug and upholstery in the matching armchairs.
The design process often begins with an initial design consultation either at our showroom, your home or via zoom. During the consultation we will discuss your requirements and any ideas or inspirations you may already have. From there, using our vast knowledge of suppliers for anything from fabrics, wallpapers, trimmings, window treatments, furniture and accessories we will put together a room scheme and our design suggestions for your space. The next stage is to arrange a professional measure if required, confirm all of the finer details and then prepare a quotation.
The charming camel back sofa was a joy for our bespoke team to work with and has been given a completely new lease of life in the vibrant, woven Dumas fabric by Nina Campbell. Using a modern, flame stitch style weave like this creates an interesting contrast to the period furniture and the original knotted fringe around the wood base.
Keeping the large sofa and feature wall in the same green tone, gives this room a light and breezy feel, and creates a clean backdrop to exhibit the eclectic collection of ornaments and frames. The uniform colour palette of deep pink and soft green with warm neutrals and accents of blue to tie in with the curtains, really make this scheme sit nicely together across the space. The result is a room perfectly in balance and beautifully brought together through textures of velvet, weaves, embroidered designs and wooden paneling.
One of the popular interior colours, green is extremely versatile and can be styled alongside other colours to suit any style of home. From pistachio and sage, to bold grass green this colour makes the ideal choice for every room!
